What to Expect in a Data Report
The data obtained from a Pop-up Satellite Archival Tag depends on the transmitter model, the programming specifications, and whether or not the tag was physically recovered. The following lists detail what to expect in each type of report. (Click here for details on how to request a data report.)

* Be advised that only a subset of data may be received through the Argos system.
** Individual records could be identified as “
delta limited” and may not capture the full extent of depth or temperature profile.
*** Tag must have access to daily varying solar light levels in order to estimate sunrise/sunset times and corresponding geolocations. Assuming the tag is able to detect varying solar light levels, Standard Rate tags provide daily geolocation (latitude/longitude) estimates. However, if the animal is too deep in the water column to detect the daily solar light cycle, the tag will be unable to provide location estimates. Possible error in location estimates can result from water turbidity, vertical behavior, time of year, etc. Consequently, even if the tag estimates locations, it may not be able to resolve small-scale movements. However, for many species, tag light-based locations can reveal long-range migration routes. Please
