PTT-100 45 gram
The 45 gram PTT uses the same
well proven circuitry of our larger
PTTs, but it is built using hybrid
technology.
Similar in many aspects to the 30 gram PTT, the 45 gram PTT-100 uses the same well proven hybrid circuit of the 30 gram PTT but is housed in a larger case with a more rugged antenna. This allows the use of a larger battery pack thus extending the lifetime of the unit. It is suitable for the world wide tracking of birds down to 1500 grams in weight.
The unit is available with the multi-season duty cycle timer that can be programmed to adjust the duty cycle of the transmitter to suit the phase of the study; for example, it can be set to give an intense transmission rate during a migration yet become virtually dormant during a sedentary period such as nesting. Like the other PTTs, this unit is fitted with temperature, battery voltage and activity sensors. Interpretation of the data from the temperature and activity sensors can be used to identify periods of flight or other behavior.
