Solar Argos/GPS PTT-100s
2D Software Option
Our lightest and smallest solar Argos/GPS PTT, the 22-gram version comes standard with our new 2D power-saving firmware.
The 30g, 45g and 70g solar powered Argos/GPS PTTs record GPS location in 3D; they record altitude, heading and speed as well as latitude and longitude.
These larger PTTs are now available with the optional 2D version of the firmware which records location in 2D only. This allows more data to be carried in each Argos message and so has several advantages:
- Lower overall power requirement to get locations "through" the system
- Capability of collecting more locations
- Better chance of receiving locations in areas of interference, e.g., Europe
