in-house has led to this tiny PTT.
The 20 gram version is suitable for the world wide tracking of birds as small as 600 grams in weight. This PTT uses the same well proven circuitry of our larger PTTs, but it is built using hybrid technology. The electronic module weighs a mere 3.5 grams.
The unit is available with the multi-season duty cycle timer that can be programmed to adjust the duty cycle of the transmitter to suit the phase of the study; for example, it can be set to give an intense transmission rate during a migration, yet become virtually dormant during a sedentary period such as nesting. Like the larger PTTs, this unit is fitted with temperature, battery voltage and activity sensors. Interpretation of the data from the temperature and activity sensors can be used to identify periods of flight or other behavior
